Who it's for? - Climbers
What it does? - Burly, easy to install top anchors with clip in point
How it does it? - Large steel construction with eyelets for quicklinks, and eyelets for clipping into the anchors at the bottom
Mussy hooks are large, durable steel hooks commonly installed at the top of sport climbing routes as part of a fixed anchor system. They allow climbers to lower directly from the anchor, eliminating the need to "clean" the climb. A typical setup uses two opposing Mussy hooks attached to separate anchor bolts for redundancy and safety. Their wide, rounded shape is designed to minimize rope abrasion during lowering and top-roping.
These specialized mussy hooks include an eyelet at the bottom climbers can use to clip a personal anchor system into, or quickdraws to reduce the wear of repeated toproping on the mussies.
